XGN15 Air Insulated Switchgear

The 15kV air-insulated ring main unit (RMU) is a core equipment for connecting medium and high voltage distribution networks. It is compatible with 15kV voltage level distribution systems both domestically and internationally, and is widely used at the end of high voltage distribution networks, in connection lines of large energy projects, and in some mid-range industrial scenarios overseas. The equipment utilizes dry and clean air as the insulating medium, adopts a reinforced insulation cabinet structure, and integrates a vacuum circuit breaker and load switch combination module. It possesses functions such as high voltage distribution network section control, load transfer, and rapid fault isolation. Balancing medium and high voltage compatibility with ease of operation and maintenance, it is a key selection device that fills the gap between 12kV and 20kV voltage levels.

Features

1.Medium and high voltage adaptability and redundancy:

The insulation structure has been optimized through high voltage withstand testing, capable of withstanding instantaneous impacts at a voltage level of 15kV. The insulation margin has been improved by 15% compared to standard requirements, adapting to complex scenarios with significant voltage fluctuations in the distribution network.

2.Cross-standard compatibility:

It is compatible with both GB and IEC standards, with electrical interfaces that can be switched as needed. It can be connected to domestic high-voltage distribution networks and also meets the project acceptance requirements in Southeast Asia and some countries in South America.

3.Lightweight high-voltage design:

Compared to traditional equipment of the same voltage level, the cabinet weight is reduced by 30%. It adopts a modular splicing structure, which can be adapted for on-site installation in areas with transportation difficulties such as mountains and hills.

4.Excellent anti-interference performance:

Equipped with an internal electromagnetic shielding module, it can withstand electromagnetic radiation interference from high-voltage lines, ensuring precise operation of the measurement and control system. It is suitable for deployment scenarios where high-voltage distribution networks and communication lines share the same channel.

Implementation standards: GB/T 3906-2020, IEC 62271-201; Rated current: 1600A-3150A; Short-circuit breaking current: 31.5kA-40kA; Protection level: IP4X (outdoor type IP55); Installation methods: indoor floor-mounted, outdoor prefabricated, mountain portable installation; Optional configurations: high-voltage live display device, electromagnetic shielding module, remote wireless measurement and control terminal.

    FAQs

Can 15kV ring main units be connected to 12kV and 20kV equipment for distribution network integration?

Connection can be achieved through a dedicated transformer and voltage regulation module. It is necessary to calculate the insulation strength and current parameters in advance, and equip with suitable transition components to avoid equipment failure caused by voltage mismatch.

Will the difficulty of operation and maintenance increase after the equipment is installed in a mountainous scenario?

No, lightweight and modular design facilitates manual handling and maintenance. Outdoor equipment features anti-condensation and dust-proof reinforcement, which can reduce the frequency of inspections in humid and dusty mountain environments.

    Related Applications

Mountainous High-Voltage Distribution Network Interconnection Line: In mountainous areas, high-voltage distribution network points are scattered and transportation and installation conditions are limited. The 15kV ring main unit can serve as the core control equipment for the interconnection line, enabling the interconnection and mutual supply of distribution networks in different areas. The lightweight design is suitable for transportation through narrow mountainous passages, and the reinforced insulation structure can withstand strong convection and thunderstorm weather in mountainous areas, ensuring the power supply for mountainous residents and the power transmission of photovoltaic and wind power projects.

Overseas mid-range industrial projects: such as electronic processing factories and building material factories in South America and Southeast Asia. In these regions, some adopt a 15kV distribution network standard. The equipment can be adapted to the local voltage system and acceptance specifications, with cross-standard compatibility features that require no additional modification. The modular structure facilitates container transportation and rapid on-site assembly, while eliminating the potential hazards of SF6 gas, meeting local environmental protection requirements.

Large bridge and tunnel power distribution network: The high-voltage power supply system for large bridges and tunnels must balance safety and spatial adaptability. The 15kV ring main unit can be installed on the side walls of tunnels or in the power distribution cabinets of bridges. Its electromagnetic shielding function prevents interference with communication and monitoring systems, while its rapid fault isolation capability prevents local faults from affecting the overall power supply for traffic, ensuring stable operation of the lighting, ventilation, and emergency systems in bridges and tunnels.
