PT handcart
PT handcart (voltage transformer handcart) is a withdrawable functional unit used for installing, connecting, switching, and repairing voltage transformers (PT) in medium and high voltage switchgear. It is widely used in 10kV and 35kV indoor AC metal enclosed switchgear systems. The product integrates voltage transformers, fuses, primary contacts, secondary aviation plugs, interlocking mechanisms, and propulsion mechanisms to achieve voltage signal acquisition, measurement, protection, measurement and safety isolation, and rapid maintenance functions. It is a core removable component in the distribution system that ensures accurate measurement, reliable protection, and safe operation and maintenance.
Equipped with comprehensive mechanical electrical interlocking, it achieves reliable positioning of the “work/test/maintenance” position, and can only be pushed/pulled out when the disconnection and grounding meet the conditions, effectively preventing risks such as pushing and pulling with load and accidentally entering the live interval.
Adopting a guide rail propulsion and positioning self-locking structure, the main busbar can be removed from the cabinet as a whole without dismantling, greatly reducing the time for PT replacement, testing, and maintenance, and improving the efficiency of power outage and transmission in substations and distribution rooms.
Suitable for high-precision electromagnetic/capacitive voltage transformers, with good load characteristics, small phase errors, low temperature rise during long-term operation, and stable insulation performance, meeting the high-precision requirements of power metering, telemetry, and relay protection.
Integrated with primary contacts, high-voltage current limiting fuses, secondary wiring, grounding contacts, and position indicators, the overall layout is standardized, with sufficient insulation margin, suitable for standard cabinet interior space, and strong installation and interchangeability.
To meet the industrial and power grid operation scenarios such as indoor conventional environment, slight corrosion, humidity, and high dust, the insulation parts are made of flame-retardant and anti-aging materials, and the overall electrical and mechanical life meets the requirements of long-term frequent operation.

PT handcart is mainly used for installing voltage transformers, realizing system voltage acquisition, energy metering, instrument measurement, relay protection voltage input, and achieving safe isolation, testing, and rapid maintenance through withdrawable structures.
It is not possible. PT handcart is a specialized functional unit for voltage transformers, with low circuit current and mainly focused on measurement and metering; The circuit breaker handcart is responsible for short-circuit breaking and load control functions. The appearance, interlocking, circuit, and insulation design of the two are different, and it is strictly prohibited to interchange and push them into operation.
Common causes include system overvoltage, resonance overvoltage, PT internal insulation failure, secondary circuit short circuit, mismatched or aging fuse selection, overvoltage impact during operation, etc. It is necessary to combine protection actions and waveform troubleshooting.
Before pushing in, check that the appearance of the handcart is intact, the insulation parts have no signs of damage or discharge, the fuses are intact, the secondary plug is securely plugged in, the position indication is correct, there are no foreign objects in the cabinet, the grounding switch status meets the conditions, and the interlocking mechanism is flexible and reliable.
Loose secondary wiring can lead to abnormal voltage signals, inaccurate measurement, false/refused operation of protection devices due to voltage loss, and telemetry data jumps. In severe cases, it can affect system monitoring and fault diagnosis, and regular tightening inspections are necessary.
